Orange Shirt Day

Orange Shirt Day is September 30th this year.  This day is a legacy of the St. Joseph Mission residential school and grew out of Phyllis’ story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at the Mission.  http://www.orangeshirtday.org/    Although we are having our Terry Fox Day on Friday, September 29th, we also want to acknowledge this important topic.  This week, students will be learning about treaties, hearing a Métis storyteller and performer and are welcome to wear orange shirts on Friday.
